Guide to the Holidays at Walt Disney World

How are we almost half way through November already?! I feel like yesterday was Halloween and I was handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. But alas, spooky season has come and gone and the holiday season is upon us. While I’m not entirely ready to give up Halloween yet but that’s ok. I’m convinced that Disney created The Nightmare Before Christmas for people like me. To help me transition from creepy crawlies to twinkling lights. Disney’s just good at that, aren’t they? And speaking of the Holidays at Walt Disney World…lets jump into this guide!

Special Events and Activities During the Holidays at Walt Disney World

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

I have yet to go to a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but I know that it is just spectacular! This party is extremely similar to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the main difference being, this ones Christmas. My mom did excitedly tell me how she just has to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year though, so there’s hope for a full post on this holiday event! Special Party Nights are offered from November 9th-December 22nd!

Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays

With the end of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival comes the Festival of the Holidays. The Festival of the Holidays is the shortest of the Epcot Festivals, running just a little more than a month. However short, it is one of the most unique festival experiences. Christmas music plays all around the park, each country is decorated with their traditional Christmas decor, and of course the food is amazing. My personal favorite item from last years menu was the Orange Blossom Brewing Cranberry Kringle Pilsner. I can’t wait to see what the menu looks like this year! The festival begins November 29th and runs until December 30th.

Christmas Tree Trail & Santa at Disney Springs

This has become one of my favorite things to do since moving to Orlando. Every year at Disney Springs there is a Christmas tree trail. These trees are decorated with Disney specific movies, rides, and characters. At the end of the trail you have the opportunity to purchase all the ornaments (and more) that were on the trees at the Ye’ Old Christmas shop. These ornaments and trees are truly one of a kind! You can also schedule a visit with Santa and explore the trail while you wait to meet him and tell him all your Christmas wishes! The Christmas Tree Trail runs from November 8th til January 5th. Note: there’s no wait time to walk along the trail, but there’s often a wait to visit with Santa.

Gingerbread House Creations at the Grand Floridian

Every year Disney gets bigger and better with their Holiday decorations. One awesome Disney World holiday tradition is the life size gingerbread house inside the Grand Floridian Resort. This will be the 21st year that the gingerbread house has been constructed at Walt Disney World. The house is covered in over 5,000 pieces of gingerbread and made with over 600 lbs of chocolate. Besides the awe inspiring size of the house, you can also buy sweet treats from cast members inside the gingerbread house. Like the rest of Disney World, expect to wait around 30 minutes to buy goodies.

Disney Merchandise

If you can’t make it to the Disney to see all the beauty and magic of the parks at this time of year I greatly apologize. It is a spectacular sight to see. Maybe this Disney merch will bring some special Holiday cheer & magic to you.
