Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019

Another spooky season is upon us 👻which means time to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019! Try saying that 5 times fast. To save us all the trouble, I’ll try and refer to it in its abbreviated form, MNSSHP. This will be my 3rd consecutive MNSSHP and I am elated! This is by far my favorite Disney World event ever! I’m EXTRA excited this year because I get to experience the night with my family this year. But hey now, we’re burning moonlight, let’s get to the details of MNSSHP 2019!

Food at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019

There are so many new treats and goodies at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year! From beverages to ooey-gooey sweets. Here are a few of my new favorites and cult classics. Check out the entire foodie guide here.

Lots-O-Burger at Cosmic Rays

This seems to be a trend at MNSSHP, themed burgers. This years theme? Lots-O the evil delicious smelling bear. Seriously this burger was SO good. It had a hint of sweetness to it, which I love. Melted Brie and onion rings top this all beef patty. Oh and of course, don’t forget Lots-O.

Hades Hatred

This drink was good but I was disappointed in its presentation. I’m not sure if it’s because they make it at such a small stand or if they were instructed to only fill so much. Regardless, the end product didn’t look as nice as the picture. That’s alright though, it was still delicious and they gave you a good amount of cotton candy.

Snake Eyes

By far this was the coolest looking drink available at MNSSHP! It came with two light up dice and gummy worms. This sugary drink sure gave you a shot of energy to get you through the rest of the night.

Pirates Horizon

My favorite drink of the evening was the pirate sunrise. It was cool and refreshing, just what I needed near the end of the night. This is a recipe I’ll be taking home with me for sure (and adding a little extra fun too as well)

Amuck Amuck Amuck Cupcake

Talk about sugar. This cupcake took halloween to a whole new level. I’m glad we got this at the end of the night because we had leftovers over the entire weekend. They did a great job theming this for hocus pocus and Halloween. I just wish the peanut butter flavor was a bit more prominent.

New & Improved this Year at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019

Not So Spooky Spectacular

The fireworks show during MNSSHP just got a major upgrade! It’s called the “Not so Spooky Spectacular” and it’s hosted by one of my favorite characters ever, Jack Skellington. When I heard about this change I was ecstatic to say the least. The previous fireworks show was cool but only because it was different from the other Disney fireworks show. The Not so Spooky Spectacular utilizes the castle projection perfectly to go with magnificent fireworks! It was an upgrade that is more than just welcome, but needed!

Boo to You Parade

This parade is nothing new and needed no update at all, but it just got better! The Boo to You Parade is the BEST Parade I think Disney has to offer. Unique floats and characters, the dances and just the fact that it’s at night make it amazing. This year they’ve added some new faces including Constance the bride from the haunted mansion. (Sadly, she was broken down on our party night). They also had new Pixar themed floats with the Incredibles and Aliens from Toy Story.  I am seriously blown away with this Parade! And I love getting the song stuck in my head. “Boo to you and Boo to you and…”

Special Ride Variations

There are two rides at MNSSHP that have variations. The first is Space Mountain. Space Mountain features virtually no light as opposed to its usual orbital patterns. This makes for quite a dramatic difference in the thrill factor! I personally loved it and wish it was like that more! Some people however already have a problem with it being in the dark so beware if that’s you.

Pirates of the Caribbean also has some adaptations for party nights. It features live characters that interact with you throughout the line and the ride! This is something Disney also did last year. However, this year it seems they have more pirates! I counted a total of 4 from line to the end of the ride. It definitely makes the ride that much more exciting!

MNSSHP 2019 Mearchendise

What would a special Disney event be without some awesome merchandise? This year I feel that Disney has excelled and fallen short for MNSSHP. I’m head over heels for all the Disney Halloween merch, but when it comes to specific party items I find it lacking. Particularly in the mug game. Now I love my mugs and especially love my Disney mugs. The past 2 MNSSHP I’ve attended had the BEST Mickey pumpkin and ghost mug. This year, since it’s the 25th anniversary of the Sanderson sisters, the mug is a cauldron. Sounds decent right? But they didn’t even put Mickey ears on it! I mean, come on.

Not to worry, even though the mug fell short, the rest of the party merch did not! The spirit jersey is a total hit! It combines the deep purple with everyone’s deep love for Hocus Pocus. A perfect way to celebrate 25 spooktacular years.

Don’t even get me started on the perfection of the popcorn buckets and sippers! I was lucky enough to attend the party that had Jack Skellington available! The oogie boogie popcorn bucket (that glows in the dark), the Jack skellington sipper, and the hitchhiking ghost are phenomenal (or maybe paranormal?). I almost blew all my money just on those.

Tips for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

A few helpful tips and some things to know about MNSSHP. One, this is the only event adults can dress up in full Disney costume. Two, you can trick or treat till your hearts content! Three, get some rest during the day if you can. You’ll want to take advantage of all the time you can on party nights. For more helpful tips on Mickey’s Not So Scary, check out my post here. If you plan on going there’s still plenty of time to purchase tickets! Trust me, this is a one of a kind event that has something for everyone. Even for a passholder who has been to Magic Kingdom a million times.
