The weather has (finally) taken a turn in Florida. Hopefully only a few more cold days remain and they are not back to back. With the rise of warmer weather it’s about time to pack up my pants and jump right back into dresses. What better way to welcome springs arrival than with a lace dress?

I bought this dress last year around the time when the Gal Meets Glam collection came to a close. It was a sad day for prepsters all around, but a very exciting day for Julia. As sad as it was to wish this collection goodbye, we did get one thing from it. An amazing sale! While Gal Meets Glam held their own sale, I headed to my favorite stores to see what I could snag. I ended up grabbing 3 Gal Meets Glam dresses from TJ Maxx online for under $100 total. By far one of my greatest online finds. I’ve featured one of the dresses before, the Ruth dress. But it’s time to share another that is perfect for the start of spring.
Meet the Lace Dress, Viola
Julia from Gal Meets Glam always named her dresses after people. This lace dress is named the Viola dress. I remember when I saw it for the first time in a December look book. One of my favorite bloggers, Carly, was wearing it against a pale pink background. To say I swooned might be an understatement. The photo and dress were so gorgeous that I made it my phone background. So when I saw it available in my size and for a great price I snagged it.
The downside of the GMG collection (at least for me) was the price. I’ve never been one to spend a lot of money on one item. I’d much rather get 3 pieces for $100, than just one. And yes, sometimes that means skipping on quality and partaking in fast fashion. But sometimes, a special sale comes around and you can get those gorgeous quality pieces for a great price. (And other times, you have to go hunt secondhand for them and hope the price is good).
A Dress for Any Occasion
While some people might think this lace dress needs a special occasion, I am not one of them. (Have I even needed an excuse to dress up? Ha. I just do it). I’ve worn the Viola dress to work, to dinner, on the weekend, and for the blog. I’d love to have a real occasion to wear it for but Covid rages on. So for now, it will continue to be my “anytime I feel like it” dress.
