Loic Bakery in West Palm Beach

Loic Bakery first appeared in my pineapple post in the form of a beautiful banana leaf wall. If you are looking for a breath of fresh air (or a mouthful of fresh bread) I would highly recommend Loic. Loic Bakery is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. They pride themselves on having the freshest ingredients, so even those with a gluten sensitivity can enjoy their delicious food. West Palm Beach has become one of my favorite places to visit on the weekends since moving to Orlando, because it’s close to my home town. I started going mostly for the West Palm Beach Greenmarket, but since the 2017-2018 season ended I was looking for other local options for food. This is where Loic came in.

Loic Bakery has a handful of food options that are always freshly made. I cannot emphasize this enough. I really don’t know if I’ll ever be able to eat another croissant anywhere else since having one from Loic’s Bakery. The food is light, and filling, but it doesn’t overwhelm you. Take the salad for instance: I normally load my salads with dressing to make it taste better (and make it more filling). Loic does have dressing on the salad but it’s not an entire bottle, and it still taste amazing. The greens used in the salad are so fresh and full of life, it’s nothing like packaged salad or a fast food salad. I’m not sure how he does it, but Chef Loic takes your plain old salad and makes it 💯. The rest of the food is made fresh daily in their back room ovens which have window access both inside the cafe and outside from the sidewalk. The bakers at Loic are up well into the night preparing fresh bread and food for the early riser.

Of course, I couldn’t have gone to a cafe and not get myself a cup of coffee. Again, there should be something said for a good cup of black coffee. So delicious. I also tried their hibiscus tea, which I was worried would be loaded with sugar and overly sweet, but they make their teas with no added sugar or flavoring. The tea was so refreshing with just a hint of sweetness, it was like stepping into mountain air.

The History of Bakery Loic

The bakery is actually named after the owner and Chef, Chef Loic. Chef Loic is the most down to earth man I have met. How often do we get to go to a restaurant, cafe, or business and meet the owner? Many times they are hiding in a big office, making ploys to get more customers. What Chef Loic cares about most is not just perfecting his food, but connecting with his customers. It really shows in the way he interacts with everyone and the way he approaches making the food. Between the atmosphere of Loic Bakery, the delicious food, and the friendly nature of Chef Loic himself, Loic Bakery and Cafe Bar is one of the best places in West Palm Beach to dine. (Also how can you NOT love this perfect wallpaper?)
