Spring Dapper Day 2019 at The Magic Kingdom

Spring Dapper Day 2019 has come and gone and I still can’t believe how amazing it was. I went to my first Disney Dapper Day last fall and couldn’t wait to go to so many more. I’d always heard about Dapper Day but had never gone till then. Now I know what all the fuss is about. Dapper day is a day to dress up fancy af in Disney themed (or non Disney themed) attire. Just so long as you’re “Dapper” you’ll fit the bill! Anything from shorts with suspenders to full length mermaid gowns go for this bees knees day.

I said it in my last post and I’ll say it again now: People participating in Dapper Day are literally the nicest. You’ll get compliments on your outfit and “Happy Dapper Day!” all day long at the parks. People will offer to take pictures for you and you’ll chill in the same cool areas as other dapper people (because heels all day in Disney are not comfortable).

Tips for Spring Dapper Day 2019 at Disney (and every Dapper Day)

I am no expert on Dapper Day in the least, but I feel like even from my first to my second Disney Dapper Day I learned a lot. If these tips can help anyone, in any way, I want to do that so I can spare you time, money, and pain. Shop Amazon or the Disney Outlet Store for an outfit: You can find an amazing outfit for a steal of a deal at either of these places. I bought my skirt (the main attraction of my outfit) off of amazon for only $20. My ears were on sale online at the ShopDisney store for only $15. This is something that only happens online and never at Disney. I also went to the Disney Outlet and found the Orange Bird Dress for $25. That’s over 75% Off the original price! I’m not sure if I’ll wear it for the next dapper day or just any old Disney day, but I certainly did not pass up buying it.

Pack a change of Shoes

If you know you aren’t going to have comfortable shoes for your outfit, pack a pair to change into. I lasted all of walking to my photo location and barely through taking pictures with these Mary Jane Shoes. I mean my legs and feet were literally shaking while taking these pictures because they hurt so bad. Luckily, I packed a book bag with a pair of sneakers to change into immediately after taking pictures. I would not have made it through the day without them.

Bring a book bag

I’m not usually one to bring any bag to Disney because I hate waiting to get it checked. Dapper Day is one of those days where you’ll want it though. I’m not a huge fan of iPhone quality phones, so I pack my camera, a water or two, and of course, my change of shoes, in a backpack on Dapper Day. It’s easily put out of the way for pictures and if you go with other people you can switch off who holds it throughout the day. You may wait an extra 10 minutes in bag check but it is worth it on Dapper Day.

If you choose to dress as a Disney character, pick someone recognizable

Last Dapper Day we went as Tinker Bell and Terrance from the Tinker Bell movies. While I was totally in love with it (and still am) there was a lot of explaining to do throughout the day. This time we dressed as Mouseketeer’s, which is much more iconic and recognizable. Not once did we have to explain our outfits, but so many people actually said “I’m loving those Mouseketeer outfits”.
