Since stores have been reopening I have been completely spoiled with purchases from TJ Maxx. It’s basically habit for me and my boyfriend to go to TJ at least once a week. Unfortunately (well actually fortunately) I’m using all my income to pay off my student loans. Which means my boyfriend has graciously taken over every other purchase an bill that we have. This past weekend we visited TJ Maxx and I got 2 new bags, one of which is perfect for summer. On top of this new bag, I have a few other purses that are great for summer too. I figured I’d share a couple of them with you because they are my current obsession right now.
Wicker and Straw Bags for Summer
I touched on this raffia, rattan, and straw trend in summer about a month or so ago. Whether it’s shoes, accessories, or a purse, they undoubtedly go with every summer outfit. I think what makes them so great for summer is that they’re easy to take to the beach. Bags for summer, especially woven ones, are made in a way that allows sand to almost have no effect on it. If you place a wicker or straw bag in the sand, it won’t get inside the lining (permitting it doesn’t get in from the top). All it takes is a little shake to remove remnants of sand from these summer handbags. Making it another reason I love them.

Styling My New Favorite Bag
Since my go to summer bags are straw and wicker it’s pretty clear that they go with most any outfit. However, I think some outfits they work better with than others. Obviously they’re great with swimsuits when going to the beach, but they look just as great with dressier outfits. My favorite way to style these handbags are with dresses. And not just any dress, but a dress that has some volume to it. I’ve styled two bags that are perfect for summer with two different dresses. One has volume in terms of length, and the other has the perfect poof to it. I don’t know that these outfits could get any better for summer. Well, other than if they prevented sweat all together.
