For what feels like years, I’ve watched the old Starbucks in Avalon Park be transformed into a new doughnut shop called Donuts & Me. When I say it’s felt like years, I do mean that. It’s probably been at least a year since the branding on the outside of the store was added until it opened. With Covid-19 hitting just after it’s grand opening, I hadn’t been able to check it out…until now! I’m happy to report that it is finally re-open. Here’s all you need to know about Avalon Parks one and only craft doughnut shop.
Donuts & Me Craft Doughnuts
I was worried when I saw a few reviews that I would be grossly disappointed. But the majority of the reviews are positive and the personal reviews from friends and family are raving. I enjoy Donuts & Me because all their donuts are made fresh. Which means you’ll have to wait a little longer than at Dunkins to get them. However, I love a fresh warm donut. You can’t go wrong with classic flavors like chocolate or vanilla. But their “create you own” donut is what makes this place truly special. Pick any (or all) the toppings they offer to create your own unique donut. It sounds awesome but I do not trust myself to make those flavor decisions.
Doughnuts I Enjoyed
While I enjoy Donuts & Me, I’m definitely a Krispy Kreme fresh glaze type of girl. Not to say that creating your own donut isn’t cool but I prefer Dough in Tampa to these. However, I don’t always like driving to Tampa, or Winter Park for either of these donuts. Without a doubt, I would have the Bittersweet Donut and the Churro donut again.
