Let it be said, it doesn’t happen often that I actually get to dress for fall when it’s fall. A variation of fall that includes shorts and tank tops, sure. But actual fall style? Forget it. This year has been kind to Florida though, and we actually experienced some fall weather in late September/early October. (Kind that it gave us that after a Cat 4 hurricane. If you can, here’s some ways you can help those affected by Hurricane Ian). So while we had some nice weather I took advantage of trying some preppy fall style…in fall.

4 Ways to Achieve Preppy Fall Style
Preppy to me is just a synonym for classic and timeless. And there’s no better time to try out preppy style than in fall. The kids these days might call preppy style, dark academia. However, this classic style has been around for ages. Here are 4 things I incorporate into my outfits when trying to achieve a timeless fall look.
- Tweed – No matter the color, tweed is always great for fall. This classic textile adds interest to any outfit.
- Warm Neutrals – I love earth tones for fall, particularly warm browns and dark oranges. Black also pairs great in fall.
- Blazers – Whether you choose a tweed blazer, or a classic black blazer, blazers add the perfect touch of preppy.
- Bows – While bows aren’t for everyone, they’re a prep essential. Put a bow in your hair or around your neck for the perfect added accessory.
