Don’t you hate when you find a piece that you absolutely love but it’s from a past season? Especially when it’s from a season a month or so earlier so no one is willing to part with it yet and sell it secondhand. That’s what happened when I saw this J.Crew gingham bell sleeve dress. I saw it a couple months ago (probably in August) on Kelly in the City and just fell head over heels for it. At this point I went straight for the link to buy it, but it was sold out. I went back to Kelly’s post and noticed the May posting date and thought to myself, “darn it!” But I kept it cool and collected and went straight to Poshmark to search for it. Nothing. Still to this day I have only found it on Ebay and Poshmark in a size small, so disappointing.

J. Crew Style
So, this outfit is inspired by that J.Crew dress. I decided to use pieces I already had in my closet to recreate this look as best I could. I’m seriously loving it. The boatneck of the gingham dress under the v-neck gives it such a retro feel. While this recreated look is close to the original dress, I’m not satisfied. If I ever find the J.Crew dress in my size, I’ll probably still buy it. Am I the only one that buys similar pieces about a hundred times? I mean seriously, I want one of everything in every color sometimes. It’s probably not healthy for my wallet but I just can’t help it! How do you all feel? Is a recreated look enough to satisfy you or do you have to have the real thing?
