Sadly, the Gal Meets Glam collection is no more. Julia closed that chapter earlier in August and though I’m sad, I know it was best for her. However sad I may be is diminished by the fact that I scored such great deals on some of the dresses from the GMG collection! You can still shop the collection on various sites for great discounts. I would imagine you’ll be able to for a bit more time as well. (Best guess is it will be out of stock every where by the new year). Today I wanted to share the Ruth dress from the Gal Meets Glam collection. It’s a gorgeous linen dress that is perfect for the heat in summer.

Now I know many places are ramping up to start fall and get into cozy sweaters and leggings, but Florida is not one of those places. If there’s one thing I aim to do on Central Florida Chic it’s to accurately dress for Florida. Right now it is still 100% summertime in Florida, and it will continue to be that way for a month or two more. Last Halloween it was in the 90s. I was melting (and no one even splashed water on me). Therefore this linen dress is completely appropriate to wear for the next month.
How to Style a Linen Dress
I had a bit of trouble coming up with how I wanted to style this linen dress. First I had to pick the shoes and espadrilles have honestly been my go to shoe all summer. Especially so when wearing a linen dress. They literally scream “pick me! pick me!” when I get a blog outfit together. However tempted I was to wear espadrilles with the Ruth dress though, I am determined to mix it up. I recently bought these woven flats from Kohls that are just so cute. They were the shoes I wore with this dress when I did my try-on video from Gal Meets Glam on IGTV so I thought why not roll with it.
In that same video I paired this dress with a wicker bag (that has also been a go-to all summer). Again, in an attempt to switch things up I decided on a cork handbag instead. It was a bag that I used a ton last summer but have neglected to style it more this summer. Fingers crossed I’ll be incorporating it into some fall outfits when the time comes.
