Had you asked me a year ago how I felt about a smocked top my opinion would be very different from today. Before, I had associated anything smocked with body con and showing every bump I didn’t want to show. Now I’ve realized that those unseemly bumps weren’t me, it was the clothing. A smocked and body con dress is sure to show any and everything. (Even the more seamless panty could not escape being seen). Now that I’ve realized this, I’m all for smocked tops, dresses, and heck, even skirts. It’s all about finding what fits you right, not trying to make you fit the clothing.
Floral Smocked Top from Rent The Runway
This top is one of the many things I received in my first month of Rent the Runway. I wanted to try a variety of items from them, even though I prefer dresses to other things. By choosing a rental and not being able to try it on I was really taking a risk. What if this was one of those horrid styles that didn’t look good on me? The review pictures were helpful as they didn’t make this top look bad on anyone. So I went ahead and ordered it. I honestly loved it more than I was expecting. It fit great, looked flattering, and wasn’t as heavy as other tops this style.
