As summer comes to an end and spooky season creeps up on us, it’s time to make the summer to fall transition. Florida won’t really hit fall until most places are in the depths of winter, but that doesn’t mean I can’t dress with fall vibes. I sincerely think that dressing for a season is more about the vibes than the actual function of the clothes. (Ie. Keeping you warm). To transition from summer to fall I use these 3 outfit tips. All of which don’t require bundling up and sweating to death.

3 Tips to Transition Outfits from Summer to Fall
1. Add Layers
You don’t have to go overboard with adding layers in the fall. Especially when you are going from late summer to early fall, temperatures might still be up there. (And most definitely will be if you live in Florida). My most basic way to transition say, a sundress, is to add a jacket. This can be a blazer, a jean jacket, or something else that is light. That way you can still get use out of your dresses well into autumn. I also like to layer shirts underneath dresses. This is a great way to add some preppy classic style to an outfit and make it perfectly acceptable for fall.
2. Use Muted Tones
Another easy way to make your outfits more fall appropriate is by changing up your color palette. While summer is bright and light, fall trends are much more muted in tones. Try incorporating some burnt oranges, dark maroons, and blacks into your wardrobe for fall. Bonus points if you can get two or more of those colors in an outfit. For Florida, my favorite muted piece is a burnt orange utility skirt.
3. Accessorize Appropriately
Accessories can really make or break an outfit. To take your outfits from summer to fall be sure to use a few key accessories. Items like boots, scarves, and leather purses are all great fall accessories. They also work just as well for people in hot fall climates. Where the scarf in your hair or add it to your leather purse. However you choose to style it, it’ll scream fall.
