The Holidays at Disney 2020

The holidays at Disney looks a little different in 2020. Covid has caused many theme parks to rethink their plans and strategies for the holidays. While I don’t agree with some of the decisions Disney has made during covid, that doesn’t mean I’m boycotting them either. As much as I may try to stay mad at Disney, they hold too much of my heart for me to ever leave them I think. So while there’s no Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party this year, I know that so much magic is in the Holidays at Disney (even in 2020).

Disney Holidays in 2020

The holidays at Disney start this year on November 6th, which is just a few days away! While a few things have changed, and certainly many precautions are in place, there’s still plenty of ways to celebrate the holidays at Disney in 2020!

Favorites Returning this Year

Many events & celebrations will be returning this year! They include Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays (one of my favorites), the Christmas tree trail at Disney Springs, and the Resort decorations found all around Walt Disney World! Here’s a breakdown of when they all run!

  • Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays: November 27- December 30th
  • Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs: Socially Distanced throughout Disney Springs now through the New Year.
  • Special Resort Decorations: Now through the New Year.
  • Minnie’s Holiday Dine: November 6th-the New Year.

New & Modified Experiences

There may not be a Mickey’s Very Merry Halloween Party, but Disney is bringing the holiday magic no matter what! Check out these modified & new experiences all across Walt Disney World!

  • Special Holiday Cavalcades: Cavalcades are essentially mini parades! They have been putting these on since they reopened in July and I have to say. They are almost more magical than full parades. Don’t miss Santa and many other special guest throughout your day at the park!
  • Holiday Castle Display: The holiday season will bring back the projections on Cinderella’s Castle! Enjoy festive displays as night falls in Magic Kingdom.
