One of my favorite embellishments has made its return for 2024, Ric Rac! One may remember the hype around Ric Rac before covid turned the world upside. I certainly was obsessed with this wavy little trend. And as trends do, ric rac has returned once again! Though if you really thing about it, it never did really leave. Ric Rac Is Back
Truthfully, I’ve had my ric rac dress in the return to Poshmark/donate pile for a little while now. But I’m glad I’ve never pulled the trigger because now I get to enjoy the return to ric rac as it takes the spotlight in trendy summer items! When ric rac was trendy before, I felt like there were very limited options available. And what was available was typically out of my price range. Which is why I turned to Poshmark to begin with when looking to add ric rac to my closet many years ago. (Ok, not that many years. But it sure has felt like a lifetime!) Now, many boutiques and even Amazon are stocking up on all things ric rac. From matching sets, to maxi dresses (much like the one pictured in this post), you can find a wide selection to jump on this trend with!
Keeping Trends Timeless
While I’m so glad that ric rac is trending again, I caution against dipping your toes in if you’re not into it for the long haul. I don’t consider myself a trendy person, but sometimes my personal style and trends do align. (It’s actually been happening a lot lately with bows, and florals, and now ric rac!) If you’re looking to indulge in trendy pieces, I’d recommend a rental service, like Nuuly.
