Valentine’s Date Night Outfit

The phrase “date night” is a bit of a foreign phrase to me. I know it sounds awful but it stems from not labeling things the way society thinks we should. I never wanted to put a label on my relationship (and it’s still not even “Facebook official”). And I never really label nights or days out doing something as a “date”. (Even thought the definition of a date is literally: a social or romantic appointment or engagement. Yeah, I go on dates but I probably don’t view them like everyone else. Going on a date for Valentine’s night is always hyped up in society. Tables for restaurants are few and far between and you’re more likely to find me Facetiming my girls at 5 guys on Valentine’s night than actually going on a date with Michael. But I digress.

I’ve recently had a TikTok thread showing up on my feed of a woman trying to make her man a fictional romance character. It is absolutely hysterical, but it started to make me think. What if a Valentine’s date night was the standard in romance novels instead of savior complexes. (Ok, not all romance novels are like that. And don’t get me wrong, I love a good romance. But I prefer everyday little things to grand gestures in real life). So in honor of the little things, like Valentine’s date night, I’m sharing what I’d wear on a night out to a fancy restaurant. (Disclaimer: Michael and I do not have any plans for Valentine’s Day. I will probably pick up Five Guys to eat at home).

This Kate Spade dress is one of my favorites to wear this time of year. The pink floral with the bow sleeves just scream romance. I love to wear it to weddings or just to the office during Valentine’s season. I actually wore it to work last week but pulled it out again for a little photo session.
