So I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for Valentine’s t-shirts and sweaters. As great as they are for this time of year, a simple tee with a heart graphic can be worn all year long too. And as cute as matching couples shirts are (I know, we can all be a sucker for them) not enough emphasis is put on self love this time of year (or anytime for that matter). Yes, some of these shirts I’m about to share with you are about love in its purest form, BUT I want to focus more on loving yourself for who you are and not relying on anyone else for your happiness. So if donuts, vodka, and candy make you happy, flaunt it! Truly, the most heart breaking thing in the world is seeing people rely on other’s for their happiness. So next time someone ask you if you’re taken this Valentine’s day be sure to respond with “as if”.
But Danielle, you’ve mentioned having a boyfriend, did something happen? No folks, nothing happened other than me believing that I am a strong independent black woman at heart and no one (not even a guy I love) is going to take that head strong woman away from me. I suggest you ladies all do the same. Yourself first, your friendships second, and then maybe love and a baby in a baby carriage. Maybe.
Anyways, rant over (for the most part). Flaunt what’s so great about you as an individual this Valentine’s day with these killer Valentine’s t-shirts. Remember, mama didn’t raise no fool!
