Well y’all…that dress I talked about in my holiday dress picks never came back in stock. My hand was forced to shop for another option, something completely out of my normal realm of comfort when it comes to clothes. This Christmas I’m wearing…(wait for it)…a velvet jumpsuit!
Jumpsuits are one of those style trends that I’ve always loved looking at but have never been able to pull off. I’ve tried on a ton and it’s always too long, makes my hips look wrong, and I just end up not liking it. This jumpsuit from Express however has completely exceeded my expectations! It’s also 50% off right now and comes in petite sizes! Contrary to belief (based on my last post), I don’t buy jumpsuits in petite sizes. For some reason “petite” in pants/jumpsuits also means “no crotch area”. Great in theory, not in reality. Therefore, I ordered the regular length in a size 0. It also comes in black, which I think would be absolutely perfect for New Years!
Velvet Jumpsuit from Express
Fun story for how I managed to come across this jumpsuit. When I lived in college we had a pullout couch. One time while moving the cushions to use it there was an Express gift card. Shockingly, no one in the apartment knew whose it was and wouldn’t claim it. Then, when I moved out a year and a half ago it showed up again and has been sitting in my wallet ever since. I’ll occasionally browse Express to see if there’s anything I feel like spending the gift card on but never found anything I thought worthy of its use.
While scrolling through Instagram last week (because Insta is life) I found another blogger (Haute Off the Rack) wearing this jumpsuit and thankfully they linked it to LIKEtoKNOW.it (serious god send). It was from Express! I knew it was now or never for this gift card to get used! With it being on sale for 50% off and using the gift card I ended up paying less than $20! A Christmas miracle! Needless to say, I’m so happy the dress I originally wanted sold out because if it hadn’t I would have never found this gem! Merry Christmas everyone!

Love your necklace, how it lays flat on your chest? Is it brushed silver?

Cathy,
I have no idea, it was a gift from a friend a few years back. I love it too though! Just enough bling 😉
