How to Write a Thank You

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Now that all the presents have been opened and wrapping paper has been thrown away, it’s time for the next step of the holiday season, writing thank you cards! Previously my least favorite “chore” to complete as a child, I now love writing thank you’s and hand written notes. To make it easier on anyone who still doesn’t enjoy writing thank you’s, I’m breaking it down into a few easy steps! How to write a thank you is as simple as 1…2…3!

How to Write a Thank You – 3 Steps

One // Pick the Perfect Stationary

I’m a stationary addict. I can’t even begin to tell you how many note cards, and thank you packs that I have just sitting around waiting to be used. There is a perfect card and stationary out there for everyone. When looking for stationary, it should reflect your personality and the occasion. Below are some of my favorite thank you’s for the season. Also be sure to check out more custom stationary made just for you!

Two // Keep it Simple

There’s nothing worse than a long, complicated thank you. Keep it simple by addressing the letter properly, and thanking them for the specific gift you received. I like to then proceed to tell the recipients how I plan on using the gift or how much I enjoyed it. Keep it to two or three sentences, anymore then that might seem over the top.

Three // Complete the Thank You with a Memorable Signature

Whether you sign your name with a heart or dot your “i” with a star, there’s something unique about your signature. Find a way to make it stand out a little, even if that means signing your name in a different color than the rest of your thank you. I personally like to practice my calligraphy whenever I get the chance, and that includes thank you’s.
