I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to write this post! I have had a wedding board since I first signed up for Pinterest back in high school. The wedding inspiration I’ve pinned has certainly changed over the years. From red and gold to themed weddings, my Pinterest board has seen it all. But I think it’s always been rooted in wanting something classic. While red, gold, and black are still classic, they are a bit more gothic than my taste are currently. My wedding inspiration has changed from gothic style to a more romantic style. I’d still consider both classic and timeless, one is just lighter than the other. Luckily, I’ve been maintaining a pretty consistent style for the past few years on my wedding board. Which has made it easier to see a vision come together in my head.

How my Personal Style & Wedding Inspiration Has Evolved
While I had my phase of skinny jeans and band t-shirts, it was pretty short lived compared to my entire life. Even when I was still in the midst of that I found myself wearing skirts and drawing hearts. It’s been a natural progression from girly girl, to punk teen girl, and back to classic feminine style. I love florals, prints, bows, and softness. Which is probably why my wedding board has taken a turn for the romantic since my early years of college. I’ve put together a handful of collages and mood boards from my Pinterest to help solidify this style even more.
Elements I want to achieve in my Wedding:
- Timeless Elegance – Nothing too trendy, though some trends can be done in a timeless way.
- Romantic – Soft and delicate. Think luxe fabrics, light florals and dainty details.
- Detailed – Soft doesn’t mean no detail. The little details can go a long way. I like the idea of hidden details that are sentimental to Michael and me.
