3 Ways to Wear a Matching Set

Happy May Day everyone! I’ve always had fond memories of May Day dating back to the 1st grade when I was picked as the May Day queen. (In a random drawing. And my May Day king switched because he didn’t like me at all). Fast forward and May Day is still one of my favorite days because one of my favorite people was born today. Never did I think a holiday celebrating spring would always stay so important to me, but here we are. So to celebrate May Day, spring, and birthdays I’m sharing 3 ways to wear a matching set. (My favorite matching set of the season).

Ways to Wear a Single Matching Set

The reason I love a matching set is because of all the ways you can wear one. With two simple pieces you can make endless outfits. Today I’ll be sharing 3 simples ways to mix up a matching set and create entire new outfits.

First, how could I not pair the set together, right? This Target set was born for Spring 2021 and to be worn together first and foremost. I’ve loved wearing it together on multiple occasions already, including breakfast in Palm Beach.

Second, I styled the top of this set with some jeans shorts. I thought about styling it with white jeans but then figured, it’s May, summer’s almost here! I got these shorts from LOFT and they have quickly become my favorite pair of shorts. They’re a great length that keeps everything covered and high waisted. I also tried a pair of white jean shorts from LOFT last weekend and this top would pair great (almost better) with them. Since I was going for a more casual look I paired it with a baseball cap and think it turned out great!

Lastly, I paired this gorgeous maxi skirt with another great puff sleeve top. If styling this floral set has taught me anything, it’s that I need more mostly solid tops. (Because I didn’t already know that? Yeah right). Even though I do know that already, I still find myself buying large printed tops or just white tops. What is wrong with me? Anyways, I picked up this green shirred top from LOFT last week and thought how fun to pair sage with this skirt! I’m absolutely loving it.
