90s Skirt – Blast from the Past

Woah, did we just time travel because this 90s skirt is a blast from the past! When I was in middle school, high school, and probably for a bit of college, I would have told you I hated 90s fashion. Sure it was the decade I was born in but man, 90s fashion is outrageous. Neon, unflattering overalls, ugly plaid, and slip dresses. Yeah, as if. I’m not some clueless girl unaware that some trends should stay in their respective decade. Yet here I am, jumping on just about every 90s trend that is popping back up. Overalls? Totally in. Plaid comes and goes, I was definitely into the “ugly” plaid in middle school. Slip dresses are nothing but hot right now and as for neon, well, I’d be lying if I said there’s not a classy way to do it. So naturally when I found this 90s wrap skirt (that’s actually a skort) that 100% emulates my moms style back in the 90s, I kind of hated myself. I just told you I hated 90s fashion, didn’t I?

Trending – 90s Skirt, Dresses, and More

News Flash! I clearly don’t hate everything about 90s style. I bought a pair of overalls a few year ago (and since gifted them to my younger sister). Ugly plaid was the staple of my middle school years. And though I don’t own a slip dress yet, I’d like to give it a try. Point being, everything comes back in the style world eventually (even if I still end up hating it. I didn’t give those overalls away for nothing). While I wouldn’t say I admired my mothers style as a child I find myself going back to it fairly often. This 90s wrap skort is something she would totally wear. I can see her wearing it when we went to the zoo or the Delray Affair. It was such a staple of her 90s wardrobe and maybe that’s why I love it so much myself. It’s nostalgic, yet classic, and incorporates one of my favorite things, flamingos.
