Well it’s hard to believe but, my bachelorette party has come and gone. It was actually a jam packed weekend, but still a party. As much as I’ve planned and thought about the wedding, I haven’t felt much like a bride through it all. At least, not what they tell you being a bride feels like. But this weekend has certainly changed that. I am a bride. I am getting married in less than 2 months! My bachelorette party really put that into perspective for me. It’s the same perspective I had when I found the dress. (But not so much when picking it up, or going to my first fitting). Maybe that perspective comes from being surrounded by people coming to celebrate you and your upcoming marriage. Either way, I’m so happy we could get together for a bachelorette party.
Leading up to bachelorette weekend I wasn’t privy to too much of the game plan. I knew the amount and type of outfits I had to pack, and that we’d spend some time at Disney World (how could we not? It’s me) but other than that I was kept in the dark. So now that I’ve had it and enjoyed it and been thoroughly surprised, I can share some of it with you.
Bachelorette Party Weekend Activities
Most of my honorary wedding party flew in from South West Virginia. (How did that happen though? I know y’all aren’t all from there. LOL). What’s an honorary wedding party you ask? It’s people who 1000% would have been in my wedding party if we weren’t limiting the size. I could easily have had 10 people on each side but we liked the idea of keeping it small. Because most of them were from out of town (minus my own sisters) it was a full weekend event with things planned for everyone to enjoy.
Bachelorette at Walt Disney World
Did anyone ever think that I’d have a bachelorette party without going to Disney? I think not. Even my future father in law laughed and said “of course!” when he heard. Going to Disney World for bach just makes sense.
Before we left for Magic Kingdom we spent the morning sipping mimosas and enjoying the pool, that was basically a giant hot tub. I don’t think any of us really thought we’d end up using it. But I know we are all glad that we did.
Disney World was a whole family activity. My younger sisters, mom, and all the friends tagged along. Of course we rode all the best rides at Magic Kingdom. Even Michael crashed the end of the day and came to dinner with us. We ate at Citricos at the Grand Floridian and even stopped by the Enchanted Rose Lounge beforehand for a quick drink. It was a whole vibe and I loved it.
A Surprise Bridal Shower
Unbeknownst to me, Saturday afternoon there was a surprise bridal shower with even more people from in and out of town coming to celebrate. I was told that we were going to brunch at a winery, but boy was I wrong. Looking back I should have been able to pick up on some of the hints. But I was obviously too busy worrying if someone had called to make a reservation! I walked in and was completely surprised and balling. I don’t want to get too much into it because it really does deserve a whole post to itself. But it was just absolutely perfect and far exceeded my expectations.
Bachelorette Party Night Out
After the surprise bridal shower some of my friends that came from out of town had to leave. It was unfortunate, but it made it easier for the remainder of us to fit in an Uber to enjoy some drinking and dinner at Disney Springs. We started out at Enzo’s Hideaway and had an amazing dinner as well as a cocktail. We then bar hopped to The Edison and Paradiso 37. By that time it was already 11 and things were starting to close. So we ended the night watching Pitch Perfect before going to bed.
Overall, Bachelorette weekend may not have been the typical rager that you think of, but it was more perfect than I could have ever asked for. I felt so loved and celebrated and I miss everyone already. Luckily it’s less than 2 months until the wedding and we’ll all be back together again!
