If you’re like me, you finished Bridgerton just a short week (or less) after it came out. I think I clicked past a few people on Instagram saying they had watched it after Christmas and I thought, “I’m not one to jump on trendy shows”. I skipped on Tiger King entirely, and I only watch Love is Blind because Michael started it. Then while scrolling through Netflix after New Years, it came up. From first picture, I was hooked. I looked at Michael and said “That’s Bridgerton?” When am I not going to watch a time period piece? Play.

I found myself strangely in love with the costumes in the show. Particularly Daphne’s dresses. Now I’m not typically a fan of empire waist. They have a tendency to make you look pregnant or like a child. Neither of which a grown women who is not pregnant wants to be seen as. Yet despite this knowledge, I was in awe of these dresses. I mean the beading and the colors, and how dainty they were. If you said to me any of them were available for a reasonable price, I’d still buy it. I’d wear it to work. I don’t care. They. Are. Beautiful.
Creating a Bridgerton Wardrobe
Many would agree that the empire waist just does not work anymore. It’s a great time period dress but in modern day, they’re kind of just bad. But waistlines have been getting higher and higher as of late. An empire waist isn’t the only notable fashion trend in Bridgerton that have been making their way back. Puff sleeves, pastels, and ditsy florals have also been a huge hit this year. Most notably they were apart of the cottagecore trend from eariler in 2020. Needless to say with so many elements in the dresses from the show, you can find quite a handful of them that fit the ticket.
