For the longest time I would drive home from work and pass construction of this cute little brick faced wall on Robinson Street in downtown Orlando. “Craft & Common – Opening Soon!” said the signs that went up as I continued to drive by that spot night after night. Of course, I had to look up what this “Craft & Common” place was. They had the cutest freaking website in the world (even though, at the time, their website was also “under construction”). Even with limited information on their webpage I found out that Craft & Common is a coffee shop. Months go by, I told my boyfriend about it everyday I…

Dapper Day at Walt Disney World Fall 2018
This weekend was Dapper Day at Walt Disney World! I have always seen and heard about Dapper Days, but was never able to participate in one until now. So what is it? Dapper Day are days at multiple locations around the world where you dress exceptionally nice and maybe just a little bit vintage. I first heard of Dapper Days happening at Disney parks on social media. Since that is basically the only way I was exposed to it, I thought that it was put on by Disney. I was wrong. Dapper Day actually isn’t put on by Disney but rather, Dapper Day is an organization outside of Disney. While…

IMMERSE The Creative City Project
Last Saturday, I managed to attend the last day of The Worlds of Corkcicle exhibit in downtown Orlando. The exhibit was a part of the 2018 IMMERSE Creative City Project which presents art of all different forms to downtown Orlando once a year. The IMMERSE Creative City Project started in 2013 in the form of performances in public spaces all across downtown Orlando. The founder did this with hardly any planning and no permission from the city itself. It was a hit. People loved it and it has become a part of the City Beautiful since then. I love it because it highlights amazing local artist and presents Orlando for…

Your Orlando Magic!
Now that baseball has ended for the 2018 season, it is time for me to shift my attention to other sports (though I could watch this Red Sox season a million times and never get tired of it). While many people at this time of year put all their sports focus into football, I don’t. In all honesty, I really don’t enjoy football. Instead I opt to watch the other b-ball, (because really b-ball can be used to refer to baseball as well) basketball. Orlando’s basketball team, the Magic, has had its share of greats, such as, Shaquille O’ Neal and Tracy McGrady. Though the Orlando Magic don’t have any…

Pumpkin Patch
Seeing how today is Halloween, it is only fitting that today’s post be about my trip to the pumpkin patch. While Central Florida has tons of amazing pumpkin patches, I struggled to find one that covered two key elements: They were free to enter (this means free parking and free exploration of the patch. Obviously, paying for a hayride, pony ride, corn maze, and your pumpkin I’m completely ok with). They were open on weekdays! I have this thing about overly crowded pumpkin patches. I mostly go to the patch to find a pumpkin (I know, crazy concept), and when there are tall and little people running all around I…

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
When I started this blog I swore I wouldn’t post about Disney World, or any of the theme parks in Orlando. I didn’t want to be a Disney blogger for a couple of reasons, There are already so many amazing Disney bloggers out there. Orlando isn’t just about its theme parks. There is so much more to The City Beautiful than these tourist attractions and I really wanted to highlight those. I’ve come to realize though that Disney is just too big a part of my life to not blog about it. I don’t plan on making every post about Disney World now, but I certainly want to highlight some amazing…

Orlando Science Center – Hall of Heroes
At the end of August I visited the Orlando Science Center (which is located across from the Orlando Museum of Art). It was the end of an exhibit called the “Hall of Heroes”. Being a bit of a DC Comics nerd (not as much as some) I had to go see this exhibit. My boyfriend, also being a Superhero nerd, came along (and wore a batman shirt no less. I on the other hand came from work so was not so fortunate to dress for the occasion). If you read my post about OMoA, you know that I like interactive exhibits at museums. This Hall of Heroes, and all of…

Orlando Museum of Art
I recently took a trip to the Orlando Museum of Art! Something I never really enjoyed while growing up (and well into my late teens) was going to art museums. As a self proclaimed “artist” since a young age, it boggled many people how I didn’t like going places like the Smithsonian, or the Metropolitan. I much preferred the children’s museum or a hands on science exhibit, really anything that involved me interacting with the display. I suppose that’s what it boiled down to for me, if it wasn’t interactive, I didn’t like it. Portraits were portraits, landscapes were landscapes, and yup, there’s another painting of baby Jesus. Fast forward…

Annabelle’s
If you’re an Orlando local you probably know all about downtown Orlando’s little communities, each with their own individual small town vibe. One of my favorites is College Park. I love how the street names are named after a range of colleges, like Princeton and Yale, and love the eclectic collection of shops and restaurants. One of my new found favorite shops in College Park is Annabelle’s. It’s the sweetest little boutique with everything from clothing to all your party hosting needs. It’s not a large space so it’s a little unorganized, but it is the most perfect cram packed mess I have ever seen. I seriously wanted to buy…

Father’s Day at the Drive Range
So, much like all of you, I have a dad. Also much like all of you, I have the best dad in the entire world. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how special my relationship with my dad is. He has always tried so hard to keep me “daddy’s little girl”, even if I never noticed before. It’s there in the annual trips to Disney on Ice together, or bringing home a cake the night before my birthday because he knew he would be away the next day. It’s there in all the “have a good day” text and the early morning coffee talks together. I seriously have the best…
