Alright y’all, I’m trying to get as much summer content in before everyone flips a switch to fall. Personally, I think it’s silly that so many Florida bloggers start fall content at the same time as northern bloggers. Can’t we all just be real and live in the season (and climate) that we’re in? Anyways, away from that mini rant. Maxi dresses have become a total summer wardrobe staple for me. I’ve invested in probably 5 this summer (originally I had a big fat 0)! This Tassel Maxi Dress is just one of the many dresses I fell in love with this summer and am excited to share!
Summer Tassel Maxi Dress
I originally saw this dress from one of my favorite bright bloggers, Jennifer Lake from Style Charade. She combines fun backgrounds with colorful and bright clothing for the most magical looks ever. She introduced me to a brand that I’ve fallen head over heels with, Eliza J. I’ll tell you what, I’d buy every Eliza J. dress out there…if it wasn’t for the price.
You may notice that the dress I’m wearing is almost identical to the Eliza J dress. However, it is missing a tier of tassels. This is because in my search for an affordable similar dress I found the kids version. The kids brand is called Rare Editions. Eliza J & Rare Editions seem to have some sort of partnership so that you and you mini-me can match. I say this because my 4th of July Maxi Dress that I wore this year is the mini-me version of an Eliza J dress. So it should come as now surprise that this Tassel Maxi Dress was the same kind of deal.
Shopping in the Kids Section
I’ll be going into this more in depth on my next post but there’s a few quick things to note. First off, sizing. If you aren’t petite, shopping in the kids section probably won’t fly. Kids sizing is completely different from women’s sizing. Second, the detailing. As I mentioned earlier, the details of this Tassel Maxi Dress from Rare Editions is slightly different from the Eliza J version. Would anyone have been the wiser had I not mentioned it? Maybe with the side by side comparison but certainly not in real life. To me these changes (and small alterations I might have to make) are well worth the price difference.

I’ve included both the kids version (which I am wearing) and the adult version of this dress so that everyone can enjoy.
