Off the Shoulder Top from Lilly Pulitzer

Summer is an adventurous time of year for me and my wardrobe. From getting my first bikini as a teen, to venturing into an off the shoulder top. You just never know what new fashion adventure you’re going to get with me in the summer! It was about two year ago (almost to date) that I attempted to style a cold shoulder top. Because it didn’t fit the best I ended up giving it to my sister (who totally rocks it if I do say myself). However, before I handed it down I did post it as one of my first blog post. You can see it here. Maybe this first attempt wasn’t the best, but it did lead me into trying to find an off the shoulder top that I liked. Last summer I found one from Lilly Pulitzer that I loved. This year I’m happy to report I found another off the shoulder Lilly top that I’ve fallen even more in love with.

Summer Off the Shoulder Top

Last years version of this Lilly top was really great for a lot of reasons. I loved the fun print, it was a new style for me, and it was perfect for my Alaskan cruise. What that print wasn’t really great for was summer in Florida. It was a little too dark which made it get a little hot too fast. Granted, when it’s paired with shorts in the summer it’s not too bad. But I really love the way it looks with pants.

This years version of the top is obviously much lighter. At first I was skeptical of how it would look paired with pants, but after doing a try on video for IGTV I was fully convinced. I shared this top paired with navy shorts and flip flops in the video as well for a more casual look. As cute as it is with shorts I basically fell head over heels for it paired with white pants.
